Hi everyone,

We are applying to bring my Mother-in-law on super-visa and I and my wife have notice of assement that shows us at $40,000 income. My accountant wrote a letter which states the fact of 2013 NOA and then says that the projected 2014 income will be in the 45,000 to 50,000 for both of us but must be remembered that those are estimate and actual vary.

1- Does that kind of letter strengthen or weaken our case?
2- Are there any sample letters from accountants that can show me what he should write for us?

Thanks,

It doesn't matter what your accountant says, he could say that you are going to make a million this year, CIC will base it on your previous years actual income. You have to show the amount here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256ETOC.asp#incometables

So, what you are saying that I should only send the NOA and not even include the accountant letter? We are self-employed and thought his letter may help as we are not showing any employment letters because he confirms last year's earnings and this years up to date earnings.

Thanks,

It might help. It did help when CIC mississauga asked for reassessment for my parents sponsorship, I have showed my employment and my wife's self-employment income statement from an Accountant together , and it did satisfy the LICO for parents sponsorship and also I have extended my mother's stay in Canada showing the same income. But for the visa purposes do no know the answer. hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. Anyone else can weigh in on this? What is the norm for LICO submissions? which documents are needed?

You've asked this question several times in the past and received answers on this forum. I'd recommend that you go back to your older posts and read the responses there.

I did not receive any responses from those who were self-employed or did file while self-employed. Other's input / experiences would be different from my case - hence, it would be useful to have feedback from those with the same situations.

Hi

Did you ever get an answer or did it work?

I am self employed on contract. I started in July 2017 so my notice of assessment for 2017 is only for 5 months which is not enough.

Now I want to sponsor my mother in law - what can I use to prove my income? Can I include my business notice of assessment and also invoices/pay for 2018 until now?
