"Unless you are currently authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada, or you have been invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class, you must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada.

You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you).

You will need to show proof to the Canadian visa office in your home country that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate.

The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family. We update these amounts every year.

Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $12,164
2 $15,143
3 $18,617
4 $22,603
5 $25,636
6 $28,913
7 or more $32,191
You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada."

I have a full time job in Toronto since 2015 (Inland applicant), that pays 40K a year but it is not NOC A,B,0. Furthermore, I only have 7K in cash in my Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA). I own 2K in debt to my credit card and I have a feeling will get ITA in the next 2 draws.

Please advise

If you're applying through FSW you have to show that you have the amounts you stated. If you're doing CEC the funds you have are irrelevant.

I'm curious how you'll get an invitation if your current job does not give you any points towards PR.

Finally, 2000K in debt means 2 million dollars. Did you mean 2k by any chance? :P

Cheers :)

FSW. I am not eligible through CEC class.
I am 30 YO with +3 years of work experience outside of Canada. Undergrad (4 years) + a Diploma in Canada. CLB 9 in Ielts. That sums up to 458 points as in today. It was 463 last month.

Anyhow, money is what matters in here. Couple of friends are interested in lending me the money. Couple of thousands each one of them. Any recommendations at this point?

The only solution I can think of is that they give you the money as a gift, there has to be a template in this forum.

Whether they would be open to fill an affidavit stating that it is a gift... well, that's for you to figure out.

Cheers ;)
