I sent my application for an OWP on Aug 30, 2013. Does anyone know how long can take me to get an answer?

I called CIC today, they said it takes 4 months for OWP.

Do you know when they sent the application? I think before it took less time, now, of course, it's getting longer and longer...

She had the said work permit a month ago

I got my OWP!!!! My friend called me this afternoon, because I gave her address! I'm so happy! It took 110 days from the day I sent the papers (July 4th-October 21st)!

Congrats! I just wonder why the agent didn't tell you that it has been approved. Nevertheless, it's in your hands now, so celebbbrrattteee!

Thank you! She didn`t even open my file, just told me it takes 4 months and it`s too early to say anything. And she told me to call back around November 15th!

Hi Paula,
I mailed my OWP and PR application on Aug 30, 2013 with Express Post. I tracked the mail and it received on Sept 4, 2013. A few weeks after, I received an email from Vegreville confirming that the immigration office has received my application and it gave me Application No. I guess we have to wait at least for another 2 months to receive our OWP. Just be patient.

They issued it on 15 October 2013, and it's valid until 10 October 2017.

For those applying for pr/owp under lcp program make sure you renewed your passport before submitting so they will issue a longer permit the same as the expiration of your passport.

oh yeah thats one of my concern thanks for addressing it, actually mine will expire june 2014 but i already submitted my application however i did renew my passport what to do now? thanks appreciated

My passport is valid until November 2018, and they issued work permit until October 2017. But I`m hoping to get my PR by then anyways!
