I hope they do.

It sucks being graduated and unemployed for months, and major employers hesitates to provide employment coz of uncertainty.

Hello people,

I am in bit of a situation here.

I applied for my PGWP on 21st May 2015, during application it was 68 days( i don't remember exact days but was around 70) and now the dates are way passed my application date.

Unfortunately i am still awaiting my permit till date and its been more than 6 months, i don't know if anyone has encountered or heard someone with similar situation now or before.

I called CIC after my dates were passed for processing, they said they have my file under review and ask me to wait for a month.
That conversation with CIC was month ago, and haven't received any kind of updates or email from.......

I'm on the same page bud, 21st may and still counting the days till approved. Fortunately I have a Job. On the other hand my driver's license (Manitoba) expires on the 27th of December and has been extended for 90days once previously based on the PGWP Application confirmation page. I'm not sure whether or not it's just a one time extension. My job requires me to have a driver's license so now that worries me while I wait.

Not sure if I should believe this but CIC has informed my MP that CIC was initially planning on clearing all the backlog from May and June by the end of November, but not surprisingly, they couldn't and the clearing process is expected to finalize in the first 2 weeks of December. I hope this is good news for us. I wouldn't be surprised if they can't clear out.

Dont worry about what cic call centre tells you.. Its jus a wait game... Many may applicants are still waiting so dont worry cic is just clearing their backlog.. You should get your work permit soon in 1st week december..kewp hopes.. Tcre bud

Or does it have to be like official from the university and printed out, I am scared I won't have enough time.

If it says 'original' then you have to send original. Online transcripts are usually just for us. And usually it says that it's 'unofficial' transcript.
So, I'm afraid, you need to get your transcript from the college.

Absolutely not. You can only upload and submit your original transcript as a PDF file. You could ask your university to scan the original for you after it has been printed out and send it to you via email. Universities nowadays provide those services if someone lives far away and they urgently need the document. If they can do that, then it should take a few minutes.

Alternatively, go to your university and talk to them to avoid any unnecessary delay due to bureaucracy. Show them the CIC communication and let them know you have a deadline and its urgent. I'm assuming you will go with your University ID and passport for verification.

Finally i am not gonna care about PGWP anymore lol not because i got it, I just sorted out this implied status issue with my HR and company. Actually my HR was not in a mood to keep me because my status is expiring but i made her to consult our company's lawyer . Lawyer didnt even had a look on internet. Hi everyone,
This is my experience. Today afternoon ( 173rd day) i saw my application status as updated from submitted. But when i refreshed the page it went back to updated. I logged in back after 2 hours it showed updated and when I refreshed it showed " APPROVED". Cant believe my eyes . I am so happy that i can't control my tears. Good luck everyone. You will get yours very soon. Thanks to everyone in this forum for their support & encouragement especially A big note of thanks to Jubear.

Finally approved after more than 6 months of waiting!

No confirmation email or anything about the length of my permit but still the best news in 6 months! Today I contacted my MP for the third time to ask her to look into my application. She was hesitant at first as she had already inquired to CIC about my file and all they told her was that I have to wait more. Today I explained to my MP that I need to go back to my home country and she accepted to ask about my file for the third time and it worked! Two hours later, the status changed to Updated and another two hours later to Approved.

Although I'm extremely happy, I'm also very concerned about CIC going forward. If I hadn't inquired about my application so much through my MP, it would not be processed for another while. How they handle the May and June applicants is very worrying. They never disclosed the technical issue nor explained the true reason of this delay. They did not respond to my 2 CSEs although they clearly state that they will respond within 30 business days. Their call center doesn't really help applicants whose processing times have passed. And the worst part is, there is no media coverage. Let's get this issue heard so that it doesn't get repeated!
