Hello All,
I checked the status of my application online this morning and my status has been updated. It said my application was approved. I got no email from CIC though.....Not sure when it will arrive in the mail either. I plan to call them after lunch, that is if I can get through....
Congratulations Cyas33! That's positive news. The uncertainty is over. Your PGWP is coming.

Hoooray!

Hey Guys,
My online status has changed from submitted to approved... ;D ;D. Got email about status change as well.
Called CIC agent, she said it will take 3 weeks to get in the mail.
Great! I can see a beaming smile. Congratulations Jawadchoudary! That was quite a wait but at least PGWP is finally on its way.

I'm really happy for you guys.

What I would like for you guys to do is to type and share your timelines. From submission day of your application to approval day. It will help out others who are still waiting.

Cheers!

Something to Share

In my experience which includes helping students apply for WPs and coping with the waiting game, I have a tendency to say relax and cheer up because you have no control over the proceedings of your PGWP approval.

Here is what I do and/ or tell students to do:

1. Its okay to phone in and ask CIC questions, but its important to keep in mind that they have a big volume of PGWP applications from across the country in addition to applications from other programs (e.g. TRVs, SP, PR, PNP, CITIZENSHIP, etc..).
2. We may like it or not, but those CIC agents are also stressed. It maybe why they tell each caller the same thing in addition to the increasing number of processing days.
3. Resist the temptation of over-checking your CIC account. As a matter of fact, I do that once a week usually on Sunday.
4. Stay positive. Worrying and worrying too much doesn't add a happy day to your life nor does it speed up the approval of applications. Again, no applicant is in control of it.
5. Look for jobs or continue going to work. If not, do volunteer work as you wait.
6. Prepare for your graduation ceremony (convocation). Attend the convocation, enjoy the moment, catch up with friends, take photos. In my case I attended mine last Tuesday. It was worth it and I loved every minute of it.
7. Go out there and enjoy the sun. My GF and I have cycling days. This means that we spontaneously plan a destination, make sandwiches, pack water and head out. Kind of like a picnic. We mix it up with photography with our Canon camera and take photos of wild life.
8. Find a fun activity that suits you. In our case we engage in table tennis, badminton, tennis, volleyball, card and board games. We do all this in addition to volunteering and working.
9. Keep the positivity alive; you don't lose a thing if you do so!
10. The WP will come your way when you least expect it.

The above 10 things might help you and other people on here.

Its a waiting game. Keep the faith, be optimistic!

Cheers.
I totally appreciate this advice. It has kept the pressure off of me since I read and tried it. Thanks man.

Ok, so we have crossed this bridge. Next will be the pains of applying for PR. What route are you guys looking at? I am pursuing Provincial Nominee, thus my move to Manitoba.
