I am April 30 applicant still waiting for approval.....

I had paid it online and submitted through CSE. Despite that, I still got a request to upload the receipt. Did that in 5 minutes as I already had the stuff ready. You should hear back from them in the next 1-2 days.

I'm happy to see Deepicka's update from yesterday as it looks like they've finally started moving into May application dates. I realize it can't be expedited, but I did write to my MP expressing my displeasure that the processing times have grown so long. I'll let you know what response I get.

Hi guys,

Here's my PGWP experience.

I've applied online on July 9th, but I've yet to receive an update from CIC. I decided to give flagpoling a go and that's how I ended up getting my PGWP. I've already submitted a cancellation & refund request.

Here's my story:

I went to the Abbotsford, BC branch. Followed the footpath to the US border, walked into US customs, told an officer that I'd like to flagpole for a Canadian Work Permit. Took around 10 minutes to get my white paper. The stuff there is very friendly, they have only asked me if it's my first visit to the states (I've got a US travel visa).

I got my paper and walked back to CBSA building. I've told the officer that I want to apply for PGWP. He asked me what papers do I have. I handed him:

• Letter of completion (original)
• Passport (with study permit and visa stamped inside)

He then asked me about the duration of my program, what courses I took and how much it took me to complete it. He also asked me what I do for a living. When I told him that I work for a local startup, he asked me if I can do it, since I'm on a student permit. If you do work full time, make sure that you say that you're allowed to work full time after you graduate, until your study permit expires (that's a fairly new regulation. My study permit was issued back in 2013 and it states that a permit bearer can't work, but it's outdated).

He then asked for a transcript to take a look at my grades. I've brought photocopies of all my documents with me, but he never asked for any. Make sure you'll bring them anyway, cause it depends on the officer. His final question was what would be the duration of my permit, and I replied with "3 years". I took a seat and waited for around 40 minutes as he was filling out the application. Got my passport and papers back, paid the $255 CAD fee and here I am with the permit. Very pleasant experience, great communication from the officer. To have better chances, make sure your answers are concise and fulfilling. Don't go over the top with your answers and just be honest and friendly, at the end of the day the officer is a human too. Good luck everyone!

I think my application got approved early because i had my dependent's application for visa extension also included in mine and for that processing time was less than PGWP.

Click continue below > Accept disclaimer > Immigration > Temporary residence > Open work permit holder fee > type 1 for number of
applications.

b) Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) at: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.63908399.108801500.1431902909
Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the
CSE. Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include
your online Application Number that begins with a W.

5. If you receive your PGWP, please remember to visit the forum again and update us. Also, make sure that you renew your SIN by visiting your nearest Service Canada office at: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc-srch.cgi?app=hme&ln=eng

** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Processing fee is $100 (the required docs for application include; passport copy, face/head photograph, IMM5257E form, and a copy of your PGWP). Please be aware that your PGWP doesn't give you the right to return to Canada. You need a new TRV that you apply for as a worker NOT as a student. 6. Unless its a family emergency, please make your travel plans carefully and wisely because the processing times are increasing at an increasing rate.

7. If you've been refused a PGWP and have lost status, please learn more about restoration of your status at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/validity/restoration.asp. Apply for restoration and PGWP simultaneously.
