Hi,
Does anyone have any idea how long does it take for FBI Clearance letter?
Also is it mandatory for everyone or only for people who have been in USA for more than 6 months.

If done correctly, the FBI clearance certificate should take about 7 weeks at the earliest and 13 weeks at the latest. It is only mandatory for people who have stayed in the US for 6 months or more. Based on my experience while residing in the US, it took me 9 weeks to receive the certificate.

What about the proof of funds.
I am in US right now and have most of my funds in a bank here. The remaining funds are there in India.

My CHC would be New Delhi. Can i show both these account statements for Proof of Funds or do i need to show everything from the Indian Bank?

You can show both bank accounts as long as both accounts are under your name.

I do not think you will be asked to send any documents to country office specific HC, because the whole purpose of sending all docs to CIO was to reduce 2 layers of applications, thus time (at least that's what the immi minister told in their press release), so it confuses us now!

you can call them once again and hear from a different personal about the steps, and enlighten others again, pls...
