I would go for option 2 because for example i find it totally ridiculous to have Computer Information Managers and not have any kind of other computer professionals on the list. In US most of the managers are Americans and they don't prefer a immigrant for the manager post simply because they don't feel an immigrant would know the nuances of American management unless he has done some kind of MBA in US. Also, another reason they feel is Americans would not be comfortable working under some immigrant manager who has just arrived from another country.
Come to think of it, you need less managers and more IT staff not the other way around. I don't know who did the market research but if you go on job sites and do some research you will find that there is more need for other IT people than managers. This list that they have announced is totally and utterly ridiculous and should immediately be changed. Seems like a socialist policy.

You're wrong, its not done by stupid people its done by exteremely smart people who're acting stupid. Its just the way of saying no but making it look like saying yes. And yes you're correct regarding mangers. I can gurantee you that all the possible immigrant managers, who come here, would never be hired as manager right away. You start from somewhere at the bottom of the corporate ladder.(there are exceptions but lets focus on the majority)

The list is not totally ridiculous if you take into account the backlog of applicants. Nobody knows what would canada's situation be in next 5yrs when all that backlog is processed. They need to put a hold on to this immigration mess. Whichever government comes they would do the same due to two reasons : backlog + world recession.

It is very painful for all those middle class applicants like us whose dreams shatter due to this! I can feel it! My advise would be not to get emotional over this and you guys should recompose yourself and focus on all the positive powers you're left and reapply within the current framework. As you know PNP programs are still a way + you could learn french and try that way too. Donot waste time on getting depressed over this whole issue. If something worries you make sure to ask questions in the forum there are many genuinely loving people here who would be more than happy to advise.

Hi, everybody!

I can fully understand both points of view though my occupation is not on the list anymore as well....... But I DO AGREE that they made a big mistake by inviting people to send their applications during this time anyway, they had to take a black out period in their work until the new rules were published... thus, it could have helped to avoid all this great fuss about the whole situation - that's exactly what's going on at the moment!!! It was not fair at all.........a person should know whether his/her effort is really worth trying and then decide to apply or not

By the way, Canada has enlisted its preferences but...... do you really believe that all people who are on the list due to their professions will move to the country with the only dream to continue working for example as a teacher or a nurse....? They are sick and tired of it in their own country...... they'd prefer to start a new life and they will use their profession only as a tool for entering Canada.....so the list won't solve the country's shortage in the end .... I'm not saying that all think exactly like that but...... Besides, as far as I know you have to prove your education there a dozen times if you really want to stay in your profession...... it can take up to 3-4 years to do it (of course, it depends but still...)!!!

One thing Canada could "easily" do was to engage in bi-lateral agreements of credential validation. This could be done at different levels, for example,
if individual canadian universities align their programs with foreign universities, and agree to deliver double diploma. Or it could be done at the level of the State, saying that whoever has a degree from country X does not need to go through the validation process.

While I understand why the Canadian public may not like the idea of being treated by "third world"-trained doctors, there's no reason to believe they'd get worse service from a british doctor (and england has the advantage of using the same language).

i applied in 4141 NOC Secondary Teacher category, working as computer faculty in secondary school may i apply as change my category to vocational instructor coz i also take classes of subject teachers like (English, Science, Maths)in same secondary School and they have done bachelor and Masters.?
coz Secondary Teachers are not in 38 Categories

I am neither against, nor in favor of the new regulations. I just accept the reality, because Canada has the right to determine which is the best way to welcome immigrants.

I just know that I will do everything possible to immigrate to Canada, and if I fail to succeed, I will try again and again and again......

Do not give up and you will make your dreams come true!
