Hi, If you have received an ITA and applied for an Indian PCC, you must already know that you are asked to choose the purpose of PCC in the initial application, there are two potential answers that make sense.
1. Immigration purposes other than citizenship
2. Residence Permit
Unfortunately, there is no clear answer anywhere on which one to choose. While some threads confirm that it has to be option 1, some threads mention that option 2 will work too. So my question is do you guys know anyone who has chosen option 2 and submitted their EE application? If so what was the result? Did they reject it or did it go through?
Just to be clear if you choose option 2 your PCC will say:
It is certified that there is no adverse information against '****', holder of Indian passport ****** which would rend him or her ineligible for RESIDENCE PERMIT for CANADA.
This PCC is not valid for any other purpose or country.
