I am still working as an live in caregiver and I received my permanent SiN. So can my current employer update my payroll profile to report my payroll under my new SiN? And do I need to call CRA about link my old SIN to my new SIN? Can anyone who had the experience about this give me some advice? Thank you!

Yehey! I'm finally permanent resident. Thank you for all of those who are very supportive every time I have a question. Hope everything turns out well for those who are still waiting for their application. Good luck! I'm so happy.

Nothing really serious. They just asked the ones they had in their forms. If you had been convicted, refused entry or have serious illness. And something about your information just to verify that all the information is correct. Right there and then they would stamp your passport and give you your landing certificate. It took me 30 minutes because there was a line up when I came. And then I went directly to Service Canada and they gave me new SIN. That's it. All done in an hour.

I think it's all in the system. You don't have to call CRA for that. Just give your employer your new SIN and they would give it to their accountant and their accountant would do the rest. It's all in the system. The day I got my new SIN statistics office knew right away that I landed the same day so everything is updated so you don't need to worry about updating anything except the one your employer has.
