Let share Preparations/Timelines for 2015 Live In Caregiver PR/OWP Applications

I just want to share my experience. I got my eligibility letter last week. I applied on Nov 20th 2015. But at the time my lcp work permit with my employer had expired on Oct 5th, I applied for a new one in august but it was not approved yet. I called cix and they told me to send my pr/owp application with an explanation letter. I did that indications the the call centre instruct me to do so. And I still got to this point no issue. Just some info for those of u that ur 24 months will end before ur pr/owp eligibility. I got my new work permit under my employer in Jan and then my owp the March but valid from Feb.

I am at the moment under implied status since my work permit has expired a few days ago. I still have no news from the PR and OWP application which I filed in mid March. I also applied for a new closed work permit, a few days ago, after I was informed that my OHIP card would be cancelled while until I get a new document.

What do you do in regards to your OHIP card? I never thought about that, I didnt know it would be cancelled while on implied status.

Yes, im implied status too. Yes once your work permit got expired you will lose your OHIP. they told me you can renew it when you recieved your new work permit. Just be healthy while waiting for your permit

I'm in alberta and they gave me a 90 day implied status extension. I got new permit a week or so after my health plan expired

Thanks Caribgal84, What paper did you take to healthcare office to prove your implied status? I dont have anything to show, I filed y application two month ago and got nothing yet.

Here's my timeline:

OWP/PR package received by CIC: Feb. 15, 2016
AOR received through email: March 23, 2016
application start processing: March 22, 2016

I'm single with no kids and applied under the old pathway/24 mth option.

Please reply if we share similar timeline.

just to update: OWP issued: May 12, 2016. Received today on May 17, 2016.

Please let me know what I should be expecting afterwards? Will there be any notification for AIP (Approved in principle)?

Congrats Schumie! Let's hope we'll get our PR fast too. Let's say around August or September.

Hi! Im planning to pass my PR & OWP application tomorrow. I've completed all the documents except for the T4. I only have one T4- yr 2013 which was given to me febuary 2014. What i dint have is for the yr 2014 - which is suppose to be given end of this month. My question is , will it be okay with just one T4? Thank you

Yes, just make a letter of explanation stating your concern.

Hi.. you'll be given 30 days to submit your passport.
Landed status is given to the principal applicant. Dependents
are still waiting for the PR visa. Thank you
