Yes I did! 4months before my work permit expired I applied my extension.. coz you need valid WP for applying PR/OP.

hi! when you applied for an extension, what date did you place on the "expected duration of employment" on IMM 5710? i will apply for an extension by march because my permit will expire on april. called cic but the agent i talked to didnt give me a clear answer thus making me confused to what date i must put on the form. thank you for your reply in advance. How much did you pay for your open work permit? And how long did you wait for it?

if same employer you can place one year or depends on your work contract. but first you have to renew your passport because they will only give you wp extension depend on your passport expiry.

No I didn't pay my Open permit holder, I paid only $155, same with the extension of work permit
I waited exact 3months.

In my case, I just wrote only the time since I filled out my IMM5710 and validated, coz you couldn't write late or a head, if you notice there is a time format, so you should follow the time format and end up to 2yrs.. don't apply 1month before the WP expire, coz when you do it by mail it takes 3 to 4months, but if you try to do it by online it takes only a month..

Even if she calls they want answer if it doesnt pass 4 months. I called for my application(june 20) and told me to call after this day pass .

Yes I called them more than 2 times and they told the same thing. Call us after 4 months pass so we can check it I'm still waiting the end of the Month.
