We have applied for PR as a provincial nominee at CHC Islamabad Pakistan. Our medical was done on March 11, 2009. Since then we did not hear anything from them NO PPR yet. They started processing our application on October 16, 2008 and they sent AOR that processing time is 12 months.
One of my friend got his medical after me on April 19, 09 and he received his visa two days ago. He was also a PNP applicant but applied in June 2008
Average processing time after medical to PPR is 2-3 months and its 95 days since our medical..
Is it normal or something wrong with our file... plz advice..

Hello S.K;

Patience is the only word that I can offer you right at this moment. Sometimes we can find that "Some cases are finalized earlier than others and some cases take longer period of time." But it always is the CIC that decides how to process each case. If you can manage, may be you can ask for the CAIPS notes.

Any other advice from others please?

Thank you.

Be Patience is the word for you - Ottawa has a backlog on Medicals, your medicals will be reviewed in the order it was received also it may take more than the estimated time of 2 to 3 months. I did my medicals in the end of March as well. Also, remember there is a security check which will be completed on all adults - that only takes 1 to 2 months but that only comes after the medical is passed - with that said, you are in the middle of medical approval process or security checks - my guess may be another month or so, but this is a guess only.

That is not true, they won't wait if the application is ready and all checks are completed. It all depends on the process time it takes on each application, if me and you applied on the same date, logically we should get the visa on the same date or at least near to each other, however each file is different and assessed differently and could take few months less or more, I don't want to explain but there are various reasons for that.

With that said, according to the new process, people can receive visa within 8 months as well, all depends on the visa post, processing time, background and security checks and medical approval. IO have objectives to meet and they are like any other administrative worker but with the power of approval or denial, they also need to complete and close the cases as soon as they come to conclusion but not merely waiting for the 12 months to be over to send the PPR etc.
