I did a search about IMM5490E and i found few topics, but not really anything that was similar as my question.
If there is still one, i missed it and im sorry about that.

Here is the situation
I have been visiting my husband 10/2009 and we have took a trip together(4months in Mexico) and came to Canada after that. Currently my address in home country is to my parents(mailing address in home year country is po.box, reason for this is that my mom will loose students support from goverment if i my mailing address is there, they will check my income past year,2009 and that affects her supports. Im living with my parents, cause i save alot more money, than paying rent while im travelling. )

Question 27 Have you and your sponsor lived together?
Ihave been with him all the time since 10/2009, but how can i say we have lived together? What i understand you cant actually live in Canada just with visitor visa? So should i put no, or is it ok to put yes and just fill one box of dates, from 23.10.2009 to today.

Question 28 Are you currently living with your sponsor? Am i? If not, what should i put to question When did your sponsor return to Canada? Last time? I dont understand the question. He did came from business trip couple weeks ago, i was at his place then.

Question 28 Are you living with someone other than your sponsor? Well, if i answer no to questions 27 and 28, is it ok to answer to this that i live with my mom and brother? That is the truth. Can i answer no to this, if i aswered yes last 2 questions?

Question 30 DO you receive financial support from your sponsor?My sponsor is supporting me while im visiting. But there is no date or anything when he gives me money. Usually its just something really small amount. He pays the bills and groceries plus everything if we go out, movies etc. Although i dont have any documents about this.


And last but not least IMM5406 section 1, it asks my name and my spouse and my parents. I will put my sponsors information to spouse, and my parents to where it asks mother and father? Although i have no idea what my dads address is in these days. I havent talk with him in years, his information is secret and i cant get his phonenumber or anything. I dont even want, but i dont know how much its matters here?

And, the guide says, you cant leave anything to blank, write N/A if not possible. Should i write to every empty box N/A? Like the dates, or questions i dont have anything to explain( children etc...?) Or can i just leave it blank?

My answer in this question was yes, and I provided that even though I'm on a valid visitor visa, we have stayed together in the same address. I also provided a photocopy of my Multiple TRV and the stamps on my passport specifically for this question.

My answer was yes again, and I added another note that we're staying together at the same place, even though I'm on a tourist visa.

I answered I live only with my husband and provided the same note as above.

Exactly my situation! I answered YES and in How much? and How often? I put N/A on both, and I provided an explanation that he pays all bills while I'm staying with him, rent, all outings, furniture, groceries, everything.

And last but not least IMM5406 section 1, it asks my name and my spouse and my parents. I will put my sponsors information to spouse, and my parents to where it asks mother and father? Although i have no idea what my dads address is in these days. I havent talk with him in years, his information is secret and i cant get his phonenumber or anything. I dont even want, but i dont know how much its matters here?

I'm afraid it really matters make your best attempt to find this information, and if you're missing anything, provide an explanation on a separate sheet of paper.

And, the guide says, you cant leave anything to blank, write N/A if not possible. Should i write to every empty box N/A? Like the dates, or questions i dont have anything to explain( children etc...?) Or can i just leave it blank?

Write N/A for all sections that don't apply, if you can, try to cross out slots with dates with a dash. Don't leave any blanks like the guide says.


I read a thread discussing these questions and I know that CIC values the time you cohabitate with your husband, no matter the migratory status of either person. They were asked to specify periods when they lived together as little as 1 week trips, I'll try to find this thread later on.
I readin the same thread that you can only use your Canadian address as the "mailing address" and the residential address had to be an address in your home country if you're a visitor, however, in my Region Specific Guide it clearly states that residential address is the address where I'm physically living so I concluded I have to provide the explanation above and a photocopy of my visitor records (visa and stamps on passport)

I wrote (please see attached sheet) and I added a document with numbered pages and my name and the form name on top. I put all notes on that separate sheet.

If you can't get the address, just provide an explanation. I'm sure they'll understand

My visa office will be Mexico City. I'm missing just a few photocopies and translations and chat logs. I hope I can send my application next monday.

We are still filling the application, and i will do my medicals etc on next week. I have to apply visa extension too, cause my visa expires December 1st 2010.

i have also that problem. First time we talked was 2006, but i dont have any evidence of that, guess how many times i have bought new computer since then Im just explaining why i dont have msn history etc. Well same thing with conversations before i came. i bought new computer(which is broken now ) February 2010, cause my old computer just stopped working. I just have to explain that, i have phone record that we have been texting before i came etc.
And when i came to canada to visit him, my main goal wasnt to be sponsored. I wanted to get know him and see how things are going,we were friends and fell in love after meeting each other. We didnt plan this in months after we met. I think im just gonna explain this too.

in document checklist(IMM5491/Q22) it asks identity and civil status documents? Currently my civil status is still single. I have to authorize our marriage certificate in ottawa, before i can go to my embassy and change my civil status to married. this can take several weeks.
Can i still send the application and later attach new civil status document, where it says married? or should i wait until i can change my status in my home country?

I believe Civil status Documents refers to ID documents (Driver's license, any National ID Card..) if they are not updated yet I wouldn't worry much, just attach a letter saying that you'll update them.

Technically for an outland CIC wants a foreign address, but the value of actually having lived together is so high that you should not say you weren't living together when you actually were. Other people on visitor visas have used the Canadian address with no problem, and the PR visa has been issued.
In any case where you are not sure what to put, you can always attach an extra sheet of paper with an explanation of your circumstances.

If you are not in Canada, the first question is no. The second question is yes. I also said I live with my parents and was approved sponsor-wise.

Also, mailing address is wherever you are going to be for the processing time, be it your husband's place or your mom's. Residential is Brazil.
