Dear All Landed Financial Auditors (NOC 1111),

Plz share ur experiences for starting/entry level jobs in NOC 1111 (Financial Auditors) with respect to newly landed immigrant.

- How is job market situation throughout canada for a newly landed immigrant with such NOC?
- How easy it is to get internship as Financial Auditor in any audit firm with "CGA" designation achieved through "mutual recognition"?
- What is minimum per wage rate in this category for entry level jobs? I know one on website but that does not reflect actual market position.
- Which areas have demand for this NOC even for entry level audit/accounting jobs?
- Plz share any useful resources/websites/training opportunities available to search/join entry level jobs in this particular NOC.

I know it is very hard/ impossible to get senior level job with no prior canadian experience. That's why my emphasis is on entry level internships jobs to kick start.

I think CGA is a well-recognized qualification. Some common friends I know are doing good based on their accountancy qualification and prior Big4 experience.

Further, there is a unification proposal which is well underway between CA, CMA and CGA (for Quebec it has already been approved by the members) so if you are a CGA then most probably you will be eligible for the new CPA Canada designation.

Let’s see if someone can share its real life experience.

CA designation is probably on top of the profession, however CGA is well recognised as well and maintains a strong base in all provinces of Canada. With good communication skills, CGA designation and big4 experience in the pocket, I don't think so we will face any problems as our professsion is not regulated like doctors etc.

Well i can't say anything on this becz I am not in the market yet. But it again depends on one's personal circumstances and priorities or I would say available opportunities.

Thanks eemmoo1 for the link. Probably the use of word “Regulated” was not the correct one. What I meant to say is that upgrading our qualification(s) to Canadian requirement to better assimilate in the market is much easier for NOC 1111 as compared to some other professions. I think (or rather hope) that the Canadian market will find it easier to embrace us in our respective profession.
