Hi,
please any help is appreciated.
My legal name has changed since i got my PR card. I am in the process of applying to a new PR card to have my name change on it, BUT does anybody know that should I use my old name until I get my new card or I can start using my new name?

For example, I recently had a child, and since I do not have my new PR card, i wrote my old name on the birth certificate..now I apply passport for my daughter and her mother's name do not match...so confusing. To get a new PR card takes forever (at least 6 months, now more than a year for me), is it true that I cannot change my name on any of my other documents (for example insurance card, driver's licence) until then?

My other question: what happens if I travel outside of Canada and want to come back before I got my new PR card? I have my new name on my passport, but my previous name on the PR card. Would that be a problem?

I use my legal name for nearly everything, the exception is when I'm required to have to fill according to the name on PR Card or foreign passport. My country of origin doesn't allow for name changes except for in extreme cases. I provide the certificate of legal name change whenever necessary, to make the connection between name in PR Card and name in BCDL as well as other documents.

Current processing time for renewals is 65 calendar days. They are now processing applications received up to March 26, 2015.

Not true. I have changed all my documents, even though my PR Card (now expired) shows the old name. Never had any issues.
