Hello,
My son who is a minor has a Single name in his Canadian PPT similar to what he has in India PPT.
I'm applying for a legal name change in Ontario for minors, filled in the form too.
One question: In person only allowed at 47 Sheppard Ave? OR mail in to them.
I was wondering if am allowed to go to other Service Ontario?
Also, if any one who has completed name change in past few months can guide me with important details as not to delay the process?

  2. Application received – August 19, 2024
  3. All supporting documents were notarized at the local MPP office at no charge.
  4. Multiple calls made to Service Ontario for status updates.
  5. Application sent for police verification – October 24, 2024.
  6. Official Name Change Certificate received – November 13, 2024.
Timeline and Processing Details:
  • Total days from sending the application to receiving the certificate: 91 days.

All the best to future applicants for this lengthy process!

Note: Once the application has finished processing, the delivery status of incoming mail can be tracked using the Canada Post App's "My Mail" feature. In my case, Service Ontario did not inform me when my Name Change Certificate would be out for delivery.
