Hi, i am Lebanese, I have the below questions if anybody have an idea:

1) We are a family of three (husband, wife & child), would CAD 2500 be enough to survive, the most important for me is to stay in a good neibourhood with near metro exit in Toronto.
2) If my salary is between CAD 1800 - 2000 is there any Tax i have to pay or no Tax for low income such as this.
3) I am ready to take any survival job, but how long i have to live on my savings till i find one, would it take more than 6 month to find survival job. & how to look for survival jobs please advice

Thanks,

1/I think yes, 2500 CAD would be somehow enough a month to live. A basic rent would cost around 700-800 CAD thats the minimum (it can go up to 2000 per month in expensive and downtown areas), food would cost you around 600 CAD minimum if u choose to prepare every meal at home. Transportation by public buses would cost around max 75-100 CAD per person per month.
2/U have to pay taxes though it would be around 20-25 % of your monthly income.
3/ you can communicate with different companies from Lebanon to see if they have available jobs. what do u mean by survival jobs?? for example a cashier or market/ restaurant jobs are much easier to find the first place.

Good luck :)

Best Regard Lebanese brothers and sisters.

Dear davidovian I had a question that had no answer in this forum.

I'm a dentist and had my own clinic in Beirut, I've been practicing full duties since January 2009.

All I can have as an official documentation for my job duties and work period, is a letter from the Lebanese dental association (Lna2abe) which is the requlatory body for our profession here in lebanon.

As I'm a self-employed, I'm afraid that this will not be enough to convince CIC. Since in most of countries, there's registry of patients and full official invoices. here in Lebanon we just give prescriptions without archiving a carbon copy.

Your advice is very appreciated.

Thanks.

hi

As far as I know, that information from the lebanese dental order will be enough taking into account that the CIC I am sure are aware of the Lebanese practices and that alot of dentists like you have applied to CIC before.
You can attach a letter to this documentation explaining the situation about the registry, and you can also provide other documents like rental contracts of your dental clinic, a couple of patients' statements or references that they have been treated in your clinic, some new copies of prescriptions you are currently giving to your patients, copies of receipts from dental pharmaceutical companies that you have bought equipment and medications from, and so on.... in other words try to get as much info as possible and write a cover letter explaining your situation.

I hope this helps. Good luck
