Hello,

I am working on a work permit here in Canada.

Just applied to an Express Entry profile with a score of 459.

My one year experience will complete on Dec 1. After that I expect the application to move into CEC class.

After that unfortunately due to urgent family commitments and personal commitments, I intend to move back to the US for a year before intending to settle in Canada.

My question: Does that impact my chance to the existing PR application and if so, how?
Also should I let Canada Immigration know about my decision to travel?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated...

You can travel
You can use this one year experience for cec with out any problem
Even if you are living abroad you can still use this experience for next 3 yrs

It won’t affect unless you claimed points for job offer in canada

thanks for your replies . This is very helpful.
@cck1986 I play to claim points for job offer for now.

How will it affect....will my score simple go down or will it increase chances of rejection....?

If you plan to claim or claimed points, once you move out of Canada that means you don’t have continuous employment and hence the points you claimed will be decreased and your score will be recalculated and if the recalculated score is greater than the cut off score in the draw you were invited then no issues. If not your application will be rejected as your score will be below the cutoff score.
