Leaving Canada with Valid Work Permit, but expired Visa

Hi,

I'm on valid Work Permit and applied for TRV on Nov 5, and got passport request for TRV stamping today.

Meanwhile i got passport request for PR application on Nov 20, and passport sent to stamping and received at CPC-Ottawa on Nov 25. Hopefully I will receive Immigrant Visa stamped and CoPR by Dec 15.

I have to travel on Dec 24 (leaving Canada) and reenter on Jan 2016.

Now immigration lawyer says, stamping for TRV cannot be processed as Immigrant Visa(PR visa) will be stamped on passport.

My understanding is I can leave canada with valid WP, but no TRV, CoPR - without any issue while leaving.

For reentering i have CoPR and Immigrant Visa - so no issues.

Please suggest if you have faced this situation, whether there will no issue while leaving.

Canada has no exit controls. Everyone is free to leave regardless of what they have or don't have.
