Leaving Canada while renewing PR

Hi,

We already submitted a PR renewal application a week ago (expiring end of this year). Can we still leave Canada from Dec 15-Jan15? note that she will not have a valid PR when she return to Canada.

is this possible? we planning to visit one of our sick family memeber.

You leave of course. But return has to via US , by road in a private vehicle if you don’t get the card before you leave.
