Currently applying for CEC, should get AOR in a week or so.

My question is regarding leaving the country while on a BOWP. I was planning, with my girlfriend to return to the UK this summer for a vacation, would I be able to do this or would I run into problems?

Thanks

not an issue.
CEC doesnt require you to stay in Canada.

Correct, you can leave Canada at anytime.
However, if you intend to leave for a longer period of time, update CIC with a valid mailing address.

Instructions on how to change your address can be found here:

Cheers guys. Much appreciated.

The only strict rule is that you can't visit Leeds, so be wary if you're close to west Yorkshire.

But Bath is OK?

I assume that rule is in place because Leeds is so great nobody will ever want to leave.

Haha, no, that's the other side of the pennines....

I got my BOWP in the mail today. On the bottom it says:

***THIS DOES NOT AUTORIZE RE-ENTRY***

Just checking, I am definitely allowed to fly back to the UK to visit and then re-enter Canada with the BOWP in my passport right? Just worried as I have flights booked home for a few weeks time.

Yes, this only applies to individuals who require a visa to enter Canada.
