Leaving Canada on maintained status

Hello members

I have applied for BOWP and my PGWP expired. Currently, i am on maintained status and i can work full-time legally. I am wondering what if i have to leave Canada for few days? Would i be able to work remotely from outside Canada for a Canadian company?
Also, would i be allowed back in Canada on maintained status until a decision is not finalized on my application?

I understand: if you leave, you can return, but as a visitor, so you would not be able to keep working. If you leave, you loose your status, so I guess you shouldn't work remotely either.
