Hello guys,

I have concerned. My mom entered canada sept 6, 2015. I applied my mom a extension to stay visitor visa for 6 months. I passed the application on february 2, 2016 and her visa expired on march 6, 2016. And until now i haven't received anything from them. I know my mom will be in "implied status"

My concern is my mom wants to go home (philippines) without finishing the extension of 6months. I'm thinking if I will send my mom home this coming july without approved extension visa, will cbsa border will check her passport and questioned her overstay or they will not check my mom's passport and let her leave canada?

Thank you so much!

Hi

CBSA doesn't do any checks when leaving Canada. Anyways, she has legal status and hasn't overstayed.

Thank you so much!

Im so worried that they will questioned my mom if she can't show any proof that she's legal to extend her stay here in canada.

Follow Up Questions:

Just received this morning an email from CIC requesting my mom for medical examinations.

Questions:

1. Is Tourist visa application medical exam FEE is same as Permanent residence medical exam or much cheaper?
2. Since my mom wants to go home on July, we're thinking to possible scenario
a. We will just withdraw the application and not to go through her medical exam, but if we will do it how about our "future application" if possible we sponsor again?
b. We still go with medical exam for her even though she going home on july, so it will not affect if ever we will have another "future application"

What do you think is best thing to do?

Thank you again for all advices!!!!

1. The medical is the same.

2a. If you withdraw and CIC processes it before she leaves, she will be here illegally. An overstay will not affect a sponsorship app but could seriously affect any future visits.

2b. Having the medical and going through with the extension means her stay will continue to be legal.

Sorry for the late reply.

Thank you so much canuck...

My mom doesn't want to do medical exam, all she wants is to go back to phil. I even explained to her what will happened.

We are really worried for us if ever we sponsor again, maybe next time we are not eligible. :-[

As I said, an overstay won't have an effect on sponsorship but may have an effect on future visits.

If she doesn't want to do the medical, then have her return now before withdrawing the extension app.
