Leaving Canada before AOR

Hi,

If I send the application for CEC while I am in Canada (inland) can I leave Canada before receiving AOR?

I saw few posts where people said that if you receive the AOR then you can leave Canada and the application will be still processed inland. But if I leave Canada before AOR would they drop the application and I will have to re-apply outland?

You can leave the country anytime you want after applying for cec. Just make sure that you update your address on your cec account once an application number is issued to you, that is, when you receive your AOR.

Are you sure that I can leave canada right after submitting the application? Few people actually told me that if you leave before AOR the CIC will drop your application and tell you to apply outland. Can anyone else confirm that it is safe to leave canada before AOR?

Yes you can leave Canada whenever you want. FYI: all CIC application are processed at CPC- Ottawa. No other VO is working towards CEC application. Once you receive AOR or whenever you are able to access ECAS update CIC if any changes.
