Dear All,
I have applied for renewal of my PR card as it is going to expire in Sep, 2016. Now I have to travel to India due to some urgent family reasons. I may have to stay in India for several months, may be 7-8 months. I have following questions:
1) When I will re-enter Canada through USA border by car, then will I face any difficulty at CBSA office? I have lived in Canada for more than 730 days in past 5 years.
2) Now because I will be outside Canada. Will CIC send my new PR card at my Canadian address which I have already told them or they will raise some issue like I have gone outside Canada? I have also provided them my email.

Your help will be appreciated.

I heard for now, for renew of PR card, you must have you own post address.
Did you have you personal home address in Canada?

Thanks for your response. I have my personal address in Canada where I am living currently. I gave this address to CIC.

As long as you meet the RO there will be no difficulties.

Or alternatively if you want to fly directly back to Canada, all you need to do is apply for a PR Travel Document while in India.

They may send new PR card to your home address. If someone there can receive it, they can courier it to you in India.

Or CIC may ask you to come pick up the PR card in person. Obviously in this case you won't be able to get it until you return to Canada.
