Oh Thats bad. How can I confirm if my TRV is valid or not? Seems to me that may be the issue. I have updated my application using the web form.
Would contact your local visa processing centre and IRCC via webform to try and clarify the status of your TRV. It does sound like airline did clarity with Canada that your TRV was cancelled but no harm in clarifying and to point out that you have another study permit application being processed. Assume you have already been accepted to another degree program if you applied for a new study permit.

Just to be clear again. I should fill a web form to ask the status of my TRV pointing that it should be still valid since I have study permit application in process.

My study permit application was applied in Canada. I am in India currently.

Thanks

My main concern is the airline. They give reasons like that Canada officials have told them not to allow me and any proof I show to them they are not willing to listen. Not sure what to do? But if I have confirmation from the IRCC than that helps I guess.

If the IRCC / CBSA has advised the airline not to board , then nothing you show to the airline is going to make them override the Governments decision

The airline with be levied a penalty / fine for doing that

No you should confirm whether your TRV has been cancelled. You are never entitled to a TRV it can always be cancelled. Having a study permit application in process does not guarantee a TRV either. I would ask for reconsideration and explain that you have a study permit application in process and are currently doing research which is why you were able travel but had attempted to return to Canada. No harm in asking but doesn’t mean it will have an impact. Do not try to travel until you know you have a valid TRV.

Additionally, I just checked my Visa status on IRCC portal. it says -

Your document is valid.

If it was cancelled I feel it should show their. I will try putting a web form to know it is valid. And I do not know why I was stopped by the airline. I think I should be allowed to travel. It Could I try a different airline after confirmation that it is valid.

As written before, no airline will let you board if CBSA system is showing a do not board instruction. Won't even matter if you have an email from IRCC.

In other words: do NOT assume that what the IRCC portal says is correct (in fact they are often wrong). The airline does not care about some portal or email or letter of dispensation from the Pope - you'll almost certainly need a new TRV.

You can contact IRCC to clarify and apply for a new TRV.

When I worked at the airport had a passenger that was traveling to Australia. Australia uses the ETA . Checked in passenger as usual , swiped passport . Response was “ No board call xxxxxxxx”

Called Australia Border Department in Canberra
Gave the passengers information. Advised do not board and that the passenger needed to make an appointment at the Consulate to get a visa versus eta .

Passenger argued , showed the paper printout for the ETA . Didn’t work . Ain’t going anywhere .

Sometimes there’s a delay what you see from a passengers portal to internal information

I have raised a webform with IRCC for the status of my TRV. Is there any other way to verify the same? I need to wait for my study permit to process before submitting a new application for visa.

You can try and call IRCC. You can try to apply for a TRV before processing of your study permit but tough to say if it would be approved since you would be entering Canada as a visitor while your goal is to enter to study. Would include an explanation with the the TRV.
