I am applying for a student visa and my partner is applying for open work with me through the common-law partner rules. We are having trouble navigating the rules because of our odd living situation. We signed a nearly one year lease (short by two weeks) in 2015 and lived together for most of it until moving to a new town for the summer where we lived together. We then had to live apart because of my work and her schooling. Now, we did live together for an entire year (most in the original lease and some in an Airbnb over the summer). We want to know if this will count and what kind of evidence we will have to provide.
