Hello to all,

I am working as Live in Caregiver for an year now in Canada. I have Canadian boyfriend and we decided to marry. Also I have a child from my first marriage. My question is what will be procedure for my status in Canada if I decided to marry him and bring a child at first place, or if we get married and I stay work as caregiver until I finished my program?
I would like finished my program but also I would like to marry him because we love each other and we want to be together. Could I bring my child to live with us or I have to wait for my and child permanent residence?
If you know the answer thank you in advance. Or if you can post some address/phone number where I could ask? Thank you.

Are you a single Mom? Were you raising your child alone (no support from the father)? You can marry your Canadian boyfriend if both of you have no legal impediments to marry. He can then sponsor you (spousal support) and your child as your dependent.

Thank you for your answer. My child has support from his father and my child temporary is not with me because he cant be in Canada with me ( rules on Live in Caregiver program).

If my future husband support me and my child, does that mean that we all could live together right away or I have to wait for papers for me and child? Beside that if I decided to stay in program ( and marry) could I go outside of country for some time ( not to wait in Canada for open work permit or PR) after I finished 24 months? And if I may wait outside of country how long I can stay?
Thank you.

You have to wait for the sponsorship to push through. Are you not married to your child's father? You need to get documents signed by the father allowing you to have full custody.

Sponsorship processing times:

Thank you again, for your answer.

Another question: For example: I married to my boyfriend, get custody, and applied for documents for my child. Is that mean that my child may come only when get PR, not before, even if I am married for Canadian citizen and wait for PR here, and go to school?

Is possible that I applied for child's PR when I got mine, in case if I want spare my future husband of sponsorship my child?
( Maybe questions are a bit stupid but I would like to be sure in every detail.)
Thank you
