Late response to study permit extension

I applied for my permit extension in 2016 two months before expiry. Up until know, it says to wait until they contact me but I can't wait anymore. That wait also meant I couldn't apply for PGWP because a valid permit is required. According to the application, my documents were complete too, which makes it odd someone at CIC forgot to process my application or communicate via their website as to what further steps I need to take. I already used the webform, but no response yet.

Any suggestions?

If its more than 4 or 5 months, Apply for Restoration of Status and PGWP in Paper if You have Graduated already. In explanation letter, explain your situation in detail. That will help. I have seen people who kept waiting for a year and they got refused at the end with no other option left.

Exactly when did you apply?
Processing time is close to 2 months now regardless.

May 9th 2016 is when I submitted it. I had heard there were delays, and the notification gave me hope they were still working on it. But it says that even now, so I think they forgot about it unfortunately.

This is outrageously long time. I think you should contact IRCC asap. I remember applying around the same time for my permit extension for masters. Took a month to get it back.
