hi i just want to ask coz my work permit will expire this coming september and i already applied for a new lmo..is there any way to renew or apply for a new work permit even there is no lmo yet??
or if not what is the best way that i can do..can i call the service canada and follow up my lmo??really worried for this situation.. :( :(

and by the way what do you mean by the file number..my friend is asking me if i already rcvd a file number..if u send ur application of lmo directly to service canada do u still get that file number???

You can apply now stating the LMO has been applied for. If Service Canada have sent confirmation back confirming receipt of application that will give you a file number if you have not had anything yet don't worry still apply as you can continue to work on implied status after your visa expires. What will happen is CIC will hold you application for 2 months from the date you apply for you work visa in which time you have to provide the positive LMO otherwise your application will be refused you will then have to stop work and reapply under restoration once the LMO is received. Can I ask when and where was the LMO applied and what date does your current visa expire?

Your employer may not have the comfirmation yet but apply at least 30 days before your visa expires then like I say CIC will ask you to provide either the positive LMO or confirmation from Service Canada. You must apply before your visa expires to be able to work under implied status and don't worry there are lots of people waiting for LMOs. They will give you 2 months to provide the LMO.

me too my employer didn't receive yet any confirmation number since they faxed my application last july 13..when did you send your application???
