Last name of Mother has spelling mistake

Hi,

There is a spelling mistake in my mother's last name in my Birth Certificate and Passport. Her last name is "Akhter", however her last name is "Akther" in my documents.

Would this cause any issue when I apply for Permanent Residence application through Express Entry? Which spelling should I enter when inputting family information for PR application?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

You have two options:

1. Get the correction made to names in documents to match the passport. (Whatever your mother's name is in her passport)

2. Attach an explanation letter/affidavit sworn with a lawyer or agency that does affidavit why names are written differently on School record and Passport

For immigration purposes use the name in passport so whenever the there is a need all the travel documents will allign with passport. Educational documents are not of importance when traveling

Thank you for your reply. The issue is in my passport my mother's last name does not match her last name in her passport. In this case what should I do?
