Hi,

In some of my certificates (high school, bachelor's of engineering), my last name is displayed as "IMMAREDDI". But in my passport and in Master's degree certificate, i use "IMMAREDDY". So the last letter chnaged from I to Y.

Will IRCC require me to mention that my previous name was "IMMAREDDI" and should i also submit legal name change documents?

As part of the application i am submitting my Bachelor's certificate (in education history) and one of my experience certificates(work history). In these 2 documents, my last name is "IMMAREDDI". But in my passport, in my Master's degree and other experience certificates, the name is "IMMAREDDY".

In school and during my bachelor's i used "IMMAREDDI", later when i applied for my first passport, i specified my last name as "IMMAREDDY".

Since my mother tongue is not English, my name originally written in my mother tongue script when written in English can be written as "IMMAREDDI" or "IMMAREDDY". So that's why i used the former during my school years and the later in passport.

So my question now is - Should i mention in my application that i had different name before? If yes, what documents should i submit as proof of Legal Name change.

Best Regards,
Rajesh.

I had a similar case where my names in various documents were different. I got an affidavit from a notary mentioning that all these names belong to one person. I submitted it as part of my application. This notarized letter should be sufficient, in my opinion.

Additionally in your LOE, you can mention that due to so and so reasons, your name was spelt differently.

I think the safest route would be to submit an affidavit.

this is not a name change, this is a spelling mistake. i had the same issue due to transliteration. an affidavit is more than enough (in my case i only mentioned it in the LOE to be honest)
