Hi there,
I've been living in Canada on an IEC working holiday visa for almost two years. I'd never planned on applying for PR but circumstances have changed and I have started an application on the Federal Skilled Workers program on express entry with a job offer from my current employer.
I have a language test booked for next Saturday and as long as that goes well I should be entering the pool with around 530 points. However, my visa expires September 16th so it appears almost impossible that I could be invited to apply from the pool in time to apply for a bridging work permit.
Therefore, I am planning to fly home to the UK and continue my application from there. However, I was just double checking to make sure there was nothing that I have missed which would allow me to stay in Canada with working status until a decision is made.
I have been told that I could send my Bridging Open Work Permit by post and hope that the processing time would allow me to receive my invitation to apply and AOR before my application was assessed. However, I figured that it would be assessed on my circumstances from the date it was posted and could subsequently affect my residency application further down the line.
Thank you.
