Dear all,

I have faced a question where I think it's very unique and there is no information on CIC about it ;) I really appreciate if you let me know if you have any info or comment.

I have taken the IELTS test two times and considering both tests I will meet the CLB level 9 and above. Is it possible to report my highest score from each test which basically means I use both results? Here is my score in each exam in order to avoid any confusion:

Test 1- Listening (8.0) , Reading (6.5), Writing (7.0), Speaking (5.5) --> since i didn't know about speaking test I did really bad in it :p
Test 2- Listening (7.0) , Reading (8.5), Writing (6.0), Speaking (7.5)

So if I use my highest score of the two exams, I will have CLB 9 and above!! Is it possible to do it? It's not a lie or misrepresentation but still don't know how it works for CIC? I called them and no reply! I sent an email just today though. Based on the CIC website, it looks like that they care about individual score and no limitation on score range or number of test ?!

What you people think about it or experience?

All the best,

You have to use the second test, as the first one has a 5.5 in it. (You are FSW?)

You can't combine two tests. You must have result from 1 attempt.

Thank you! If you see the table for how they calculate language score in the express entry comprehensive ranking system, even for CLB level of 5 and 6, you still get points so 5.5 is ok (low score but still). Before EE was launched, you are absolutely correct about 5.5 not being accepted.
Regarding combining the two, I somehow agree with you but no clarity in the site about it!

Hi Ali,
Please let me know if you have found a way to deal with this issue. Im also facing the same problem. In my first test i got (L=8, R=7, W=6.5, S=7). In the second exam, I received (L=7.5, R=7.5, R=7, S=7.5). I only need to use L=8 from the first exam to get CLB of 9, if its allowable. My guts tell me its not misrepresentation but I have not found a way to deal with it.

You use all the results from one test. You can't mix and match. Pick one test and use that code. They can very easily check this and they do cross reference it.

No, you cannot combine the results from two tests. You will get in trouble.

Cheers ;)

Your gut doesn't make the rules. CIC does. You cannot mix test results.

You cannot combine results from two tests.

Your score results are based on a single test.
