If you have transcripts or diploma certificates from canada or abroad that mentions English as medium of Instructions, that should be good enough.

otherwise go through below list of language proofs acceptable.

Are you from India? If yes, have you done Bachelors and Masters? If yes, does your degree state "English Medium"? If yes, attach the copy of the degree and copy of marksheets. If not, contact your college/university and get a letter stating that the language/medium of instruction was english and once you get that attach it with copy of your degree along with copies of the marksheets. Also try to get the transcripts if possible.

Please note that even you have provided enough proof, CIC officer assessing your file would be the one who would determine that the proof is acceptable or not.

Good Luck!

I graduated from an American university and I have my transcripts in PDF form. Can I simply print them off and send? They don't state that the medium taught was in English since it's assumed being a university in the US.

Hi canadavisa22,
It is required to send official transcript from university mailed to your address once they are available to you can mail it with your applicaiton. Univs send it in sealed envelope which ensure integrity of transcript. I know from few applicants had transcript that was in opened envelope that lead to enquiry from VO thus causing delay to application.

Ah ok, interesting. What about if you have a photocopy of your diploma? Is it required that you get it notarized?

Also, when I got my American citizenship I officially changed my first name. So, the first name on my diploma/transcripts will be different from the rest of my application and document IDs. Do I need to include a letter explaining that with my application?

For my wife, for the language proof, she send just the bachelors degree copy and a letter stating medium as English. She did not attach any transcripts or mark-list copies and they accepted it.

Hi canadavisa22,
Photocopy of diploma certificate is fine. Just make sure you send official sealed transcripts.
VO can see the originals when you go for test as they say to bring all originals of the photocopies.
If i were you would definately provide letter with explanation regarding name change.

Is this a letter from the university confirming the medium of the courses was in English? Is this necessary for schools in the US?

I'm not sure of the scenario for USA degrees. This is not required for Canadian schools/ colleges as the medium is either English and French.
Is there any language other than English (e.g. Spanish) which is a medium of instruction in US? If yes, then it might be required.
Again, I'm not sure.

We had our advanced degrees from the US. We attached a copy of the degree (diploma, whatever it is called) and official
transcript still in the sealed envelope. Any degree from the US is good enough for the language requirement, I believe...

Hi,
She sent a copy or the original of "letter stating medium as English"?
Thanks

If you submit the sealed transcripts, then do you have to get another one for the interview because they ask to bring all originals ?
