Language Requirement, Quick Question

Hello,

I am currently in process to fill the citizenship application for my wife. She became PR through spousal sponsorship thus did not require language testing prior to today.

She completed in Winnipeg a EAL placement test and received a Adult EAL Referral Form from July 18th, 2018 that indicated that she is above 4 in all categories as CLBPT (Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test). Would this document suffice to pass the requirement or are we better off getting another test.

This is what it says on the CIC website which does not explicitly mentions the document:

"Submit a copy of the Manitoba Canadian Language Benchmark Report or an Adult English as an Additional Language (EAL) student progress report from Manitoba government. Make sure it shows your speaking and listening skills are at CLB/NCLC level 4 or higher."

To add further difficulty, we have since relocated to Ottawa.

Thank you in advance!

My honest advise for your wife is, just take the CELPIP LS test for citizenship, it’s extremely easy to achieve the required benchmark, and it’s reasonably priced, the MOST important thing is you can assure that it will be accepted by IRCC, so 100% peace of mind. Citizenship application is an once in a lifetime thing, I think it’s worth the extra cautiousness and dedication.

Hi,

Did your wife study English in her 10 Class or 12th? Just attach the passing certificate and mark sheet showing that she studied english and in an English medium school. No need for any exams.
I have used the same for myself and spouse and no questions were asked.
