Language proof question?? Confused

It is stated on the CIC website:
• A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in French or English, either in Canada or abroad. or
• A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation from a program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad.

What is the difference between “Completion of a program” and “Graduation from a program”?
I got a certificate from a college after completing 10 courses. Will CIC recognize it as a language proof?

Thank you

Thank you

I doubt a 10 course program (equivalent to 1 year full time) is sufficient as language proof.

Please provide exact details about the course that you have done and accordingly one of the experienced members can share his/her views.

Accounting certificate from SAIT.
I have done so many courses that are required for CPA and 10 of them are qualified for certificate.

it means if you're "ONLY" going to provide a transcript....make sure that the transcript means you completed the program....they don't want to see a transcript that doesn't mean you "Registered" for and "Passed" all the courses required to complete the program.

I am not sure whether this will work as language proof. Please consider reply from another member of this forum or consult with cic call centre at 1-888-242-2100

Please also check the language proof section under the following link:

The instructions are clear. You need to provide diploma which indicates graduation and/or transcript(s) that show progress is completed. Most transcripts will show "degree awarded" when program is completed.

You mentioned "SAIT" which I dont know what it means and I am not going to look it up for you so next time you ask a question make sure you clearly explain your situation if you want to get answers.

Sorry SAIT is the name of a college (southern alberta institute of technology)
But CIC instructions also mentioned Certificate.

Was that a program of study at the school? Did you receive a diploma or certificate along with a transcript indicating that a degree was awarded as a result of completing the courses?

Post the link to the program you completed if there is one.

Please try this link and see if it helps. Please also try to get some professional/expert advise to see if your courses can be accepted as language proof.

If I am not wrong because I investigated for myself, what CIC wants is a diploma/certificate that give you a grade (bachelor, college, master, etc). Just a certificate of a program is not enough.

Thanks for everyone's respond. I called CIC and was told a Certificate is totally fine, as long as the program is in English/French
