Is IELTS necessary for language proof ? I was planning to submit my indian college diploma/degree certificate.

Should I submit anything else as language proof ? (Is there any format of proof showing that the medium of study is English ?).

Also for my husband can he submit his General IELTS results that he took 5 years ago.

Please help.Thanks in advance.

You have to submit any kind of language proof even if it is expired. I did the same as your husband. They do not actually care about when did you take it. I find the CELPIP is a good choice. If your medium of study in English, it will be definitely easy for you.

Should I take it too ? Is the degree certificate sufficient ?

Thanks.

Get a letter from your college or university stating the medium of instruction was english. Thats what i did for my wife. Now we are citizen. For myself, i submitted my expired ielts and that was accepted.

My interpretation might be wrong here but in the application guideline, they say that:
If the original document is in a different language, include: a letter from the school showing that the language of instruction was in English or French.

So I thought only if the transcript or degree certificate from abroad was not in English, then we would need a letter.
