Hello everybody. We are preparing to apply for Citizenship this June. Last Feb 6,2014 they release a new requirement "Language Proof". I didn't take English exam to become PR because my husband was the main applicant. Do I need to get EILTS? In our country we have English subject from grade school to college. I have certificates and transcript. Can I used that for proof? and also I take 3 months of full time schooling here in Canada.

one of the following types of proof to submit is this...

2.Proof of completion of secondary or post-secondary education in French or English includes:
•A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in Canada or abroad. or
•A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation, in Canada or abroad.

Note:You must have successfully finished a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French. A single course done in English or French does not meet the requirement. The diploma, certificate or transcript should be in English or French. The document must clearly show that the program was completed with English or French as the language of instruction. If the original document is not in English or French then you must also include a letter in English or French from the institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with a translation of the original document.

Please help. Thank you. :)

Yes you can use that diploma or degree certificate provided

1) you have successfully completed it

2) it confirms that medium of instruction used was English

You need to have the diploma or certificate for the schooling that you did in Canada. CIC only accepts diploma or certificates that are issued in Canada. And you have to make sure that your schooling diploma or certificate meets CIC's requirements. They are kinda very picky about it.

Courses done under English language instructions has to be mentioned in the certificate or by a letter from overseas non-english/french speaking country's school/college. Best solution is to take CELPIP G-LS test for $150 to eliminate this concerns..
