Language Proficiency points - how is it calculated?

Hello Forum,

I was trying to calculate how many points I can get from English proficiency.

Are IELTS band scores converted to a single CLB level first, and then added up, in which case, all candidates will receive either 0, 4, or 6 points?
Or we convert each section from IELTS to a CLB level, and then add up the points?

Hi, IELTS gives you 0,1 or 2 points en each section; if your score is between 5 and 7.5 you earn 1 point, 8 or 9 gives you 2 points. Academic and general both valid only to Quebec

French tests gives you 5, 6 or 7 from B2
