Im looking for the best way to prove that we have been living together for 12 months.

My boyfriend has a lease with a management company, they wont let me sign it or be part of it because of my tourist status.

Luckily we know the owner of condo and shes willing to give us a letter. I know that to make it valid it will have to be notarized.
Can anyone please give me more specific advise about what letter should say?
obviously shoud say that i have been living there since xxx to xxx.

Does it mention for how long he has been living there? Anything else? just want to make sure it has everything it needs.

Also she is willing to sign receipt for the rent, can i please get any advice on how this should look like? since is not through a management company im lost in how a landlord receipt should look to count for immigration office, i would appreciate any advice! Thanks!!!!

Forgot to mention, since his lease is with the management company, not with the actual landlord..and is only under his name, do i have to attach a copy of the lease?
Does at any point we mention the management company on the landlord letter? Thank you sooo much

Hi,

Our rent receipt contains Date, Names (Both names of my common-law partner and I), Amount, For (e.g. July rental payment for suite 101 at 1234 St.) and apartment caretaker's name.

The logo of management company is printed on the receipt though, it looks like pretty much like this:

I would rather not to attach the copy of the lease agreement showing only one name. But if you have mails to you at the address, especially from government authorities, I would explain why your name is not on the agreement and proof to cohabit with your mails showing same address. That would help.

And I would ask the management company to use a paper with the company logo in letter head to write the letter so it would look more official.

The letter from the actual owner is good, but...she has to somehow provide proof that she is in fact the owner.

Your partner's lease (STOP referring to him as your boyfriend :) ) is with the property management company, so unless he can somehow connect them with the owner, CIC might think that the owner is nothing more than a friend, posing as the owner. See the potential problem?

Ideally he can also get a letter from the property management company (on their letterhead) confirming that the owner [showing her full name] does in fact own the property [shown at the following address].

Good luck!
