you're welcome sam pk

Now again to sharing landing stories and perspectives.

just wanted to share with you a new idea the immigration fellows that I know were discussing over the weekend.
Going to Toronto maybe better for a landing trip, but to settle there it will be hard because jobs are not that easy..
on the other side, Calcary and BC and saskatchewan, they look more appealing because they are emerging societies that need more and more people to work in.
But again, some of us said that there might be a kind of preference for employers when hiring that will not be in the favor of immigrants!

any ideas? any experiences?

I particularly would like to comment or know more about the Canadian education. i have seen a lot of posts from people saying that they had a hard time getting thru job oppurtunities although they had a good amount of experience and the relevant qualification. The common requirement is the canadian education. Now i am not sure how it is, and what it comprises of, but the normal suggestion is to get a canadian education done which will be in line with the existing experience. That is when it would be a bit easy to get jobs. Here is a beautiful post about it (i am sure most of you might have read it):

I'm not sure about Canadian education & experience, but skills relevant to the job you are applying for AND good communication skills are more important.

Hello everyone,

Another argument in the favor of going only in a vacation trip to land and come back to your work:

this is from someone who did that already: she said that the weeks she spent there allowed her to know which business she can start with - as she has money to start business..
she investigated, listed down all potential opportunities, and came back to her work, studying more and collecting more info and doing feasibility studies for these options.
So when she will go again, maybe in 6 month or so, she would have a decision and start right away her business..

Wish everyone is in the same position.. actually wish I were in the same position :)

be blessed all,
xony

That may be a good move if you're planning to start a business. But I think majority of folks coming to Canada are skilled professionals looking for better opportunities in jobs.
