Hello all,

One of my friend got his Visa approved under SINP (Visa Type: Category IM-1 IMMIGRANT C.REC FPA) and he will be travelling tomorrow. Please assist me with the following queries:

1. Can he land any where in Canada?

2. Once applied for passport after spending 45 days, is it mandatory for him to live in saskatchewan till he gets his passport? or he can live any where in Canada and claim for the passport

3. What is the general turn around time to get the passport?

4. Any other suggestion would be highly appreciated

Thank you so much in advance!

Hi Sarmad,

1-Your friend can land anywhere in canada he likes. there's no issue in it
2-This is dilemma; some say that it is necessary to live; some say its not. But its better to live and steele in SK as your visa and nomination was approved on the basis of your settlement commitment in SK.
3- After 3 years you'll be eligible for passports. (3 yrs living will be seen out of 5yrs preceeding the date for the application of the passport )
4- You ask your query ; We'll be obliged to answer you

Regards

Thank you so much Asif for replying.

That means he has to live 3 years In Saskatchewan out of 5 at any cost. Right?

And what about if he does not complete 3 out of 5 years in Saskatchewan? Say if he completes only 2 years out of 5 in SK. Now is he liable to file the Passport application again and start the recounting from the 1st year?

in this case he can only renew his PR
