Landing, taking trip to USA

Have valid ETA for Canada and ESTA for USA.

Hello forum,

My COPR is on it's way to me here in Canada.
Already being in Canada, I know I can do my landing at an immigration centre, but my best friend lives in Seattle and it would be a perfect opportunity to go see her for a few days, then fly back to Canada and land as a PR.
As stated above, I have the electronic visitor statuses for both countries.

Does this seem okay, or am I missing something and it's probably not the best idea?

Seems like a feasible plan and you the documentation you need.

Be aware of following. Once you land your ETA will be cancelled (I know I got info about my cancellation weeks later but better to count with scenario, that it will be done fast). Once that is cancelled you cannot board plane to Canada unless you have your valid PR card or you have USA passport. So maybe best advice is to do the landing on the way back.

It's perfectly fine to go visit your friend and land on your return.

So,
Visit USA > fly back to Canada > do landing ?

yes exactly that is the best way to do it. Also remember once you do landing you will need your PR card for all flights coming to canada
