Hello folks.

I am coming over to Canada from the UK and want to know if there is any documentation i should bring along to ease the pain of setting up stuff like insurance etc. Also would anyone who has landed from the UK recomend any companies/ providers/ advice for the following:

Health: my own health record?
Dental: same as above?
Car insurance: should i bring no claims proof from my insurer here, will any recognise it?
driving licence: is it worth it getting a duplicate of my UK/Northern Ireland driving licence to exchange,
is it worth getting an international license?
Banking: I have over the 10000 CAD in savings, is it worth it to bring it all in to Canada in one go or just leave it and bring it in another time?

Anything else important you think i should know please feel free to point out and if there you have links to other threads that answer the above i would be gratefull for the links.

thanks in advance

John

Health: my own health record? Yes, you can give ithem to your doctor here to put in your files
Dental: same as above? Yes, as above
Car insurance: should i bring no claims proof from my insurer here, will any recognise it? Yes it may help reduce your premium
driving licence: is it worth it getting a duplicate of my UK/Northern Ireland driving licence to exchange, Yes you may be able to exchange your licence
is it worth getting an international license? I found it really useful
Banking: I have over the 10000 CAD in savings, is it worth it to bring it all in to Canada in one go or just leave it and bring it in another time? Up to you. But do declare it on your goods to follow form

Anything else important you think i should know please feel free to point out and if there you have links to other threads that answer the above i would be gratefull for the links.
