Hi All,

Thanks for all your inputs to all my previous questions. I have few more very important questions. I searched through the form, and could find related answers, but may not be exact to my scenario.

We would like to drive down via Ambassador bridge (Detroit,US) to land in Canada in the coming days.

1) After landing in Canada, i was reading that the PR card may take 2 weeks to 3 months to arrive. I want to know where I can get the PRTD (Permanent Resident Travel Document) in Canada, for flying to India and coming back to Canada.

2) I have a vehicle to import to Canada, while I havent received the title yet. It may take another 30 days for me to get the title. Can I add the car to the "items to follow" list? Will this still complete my landing procedure? Will this stop me from getting the PR card?

Thanks, as always!

I'll answer question #1...

It will take at least four weeks for you to receive the PR card. However 6-8 weeks is probably more realistic.

No - you cannot apply for a travel document from within Canada. Only from outside Canada.

It is taking 43 working days for PR card (excluding weekends and holidays). You can apply for PRTD in ND CHC

Will this still complete my landing procedure? Will this stop me from getting the PR card? - Not sure on this, but your imports have no affect on PR card
Thanks, as always!

Thanks all for the info.

Ankit, where is this information from? Is it really taking 43 days (which would be 2 months)?

Thanks

PR card processing time lines are posted here. The official time is 42 business days right now. But you'll need to factor in mailing time as well. Most people seem to receive them around the 6-8 week mark.

You got the link from scylla for tracking the application processing times for PR cards

I and three more guys landed in first week of May and we still do not have our PR cards. Some one who landed on 14th April got it on 30th June

Thanks Scylla, Ankit.

It gives me an idea how long i have to stay to get the PR card. Thanks. Good luck, and hope you get the PR card soon.

If not to trouble too much, did you have any issues with the photos taken? I hear that they call people back if the photos dont have a stamp by the photo studio in the back of each photograph. I had written the date the photo was taken on the back of the photos, dont have a stamp from the studio.
Thanks!
