Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding landing,

1. I just got CoPR and the visa is only valid one year?

2. I called the CIC for appointment, the agent verified my information and told me that she has sent the request to the nearest visa office and they will contact me in next 2 weeks for landing. Is this the normal process? The nearest visa office will contact me?

3. Can I just fly out and fly in again to get my PR status fast?

4. Can I just walk-in the visa office?

Shall I now wait for another 2 weeks OR buy flight ticket to US and re-enter for landing?
Does anyone has the similar experience? Can someone give some suggestions?

thanks

Hey,

Yes the CoPR and your visa have an expiry date. Which means you need to land in Canada before the expiry of both.

There are 2 ways to do the landing if you reside in Canada.
1- Re-enter Canada via a border crossing that does immigration (Here's a list of all of them http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/do-rb/services/imm-eng.html )
a. You can flagpole at a Canada/US border. You might want to research flagpoling to get more information.
b. You can fly in from another country to an international airport like you had mentioned.

2. Schedule an appointment with the nearest visa office. Which seems like you already initiated this process.

The majority of the people that live in Canada seem to prefer flagpoling since you can do it at any time.

I personally called and scheduled an appointment, because I don't want to go to a US border.

I am confused for this CoPR and visa.

Will I get a new multiple entry visa after landing? because this CoPR visa only one time entry.

Moving forward, what kind of document I will receive to prove I am PR and can fly between Canada and other countries, then come back Canada normally?

Thanks

You will receive PR Card in 40-50 days for all travelling and documentation purposes
