Landing question - B4 Form - where to claim gifts?

When my husband lands in a few days he will have in his luggage about $100 of toys he bought for our son as a gift. Should these be included on the B4 (now called bsf186)? The form states that items imported are to "have actually been owned, possessed, and used abroad by me prior to the date of my arrival in Canada." So should he include the toys on the form even though that's not technically true? Is there another form to complete for gifts? I assume lots of people bring gifts and just claim as their own on the form but since these are toys it would be pretty obvious it's not if they searched his luggage. Thank you for any help anyone can provide!

hi,
I would agree that gifts probably don't belong on the BSF186 form, though i'm not 100?% sure. If he's flying to canada, then he will have to fill out a separate declaration form for his trip, and he can list his gifts there. when he gets to immigration, he can ask them what form they belong on. he can always add them to the BFS form at the time of declaration if need be.

Thanks for the reply CDNPR2014. I guess that's what he will do. We definitely don't want to run into problems at this point since he's so close to being here. You always help me out with my obscure questions. I really appreciate that you take the time to do that +1 to you.
