Hello everyone,

I got the info that there is no issue to land with exactly the minimum required

:)
Well, there is no "issue" but how long will your family last with only $6100. I think a month and a half ... may be...
What are you going to do when you run out and haven't found a job yet?

Dear YVR123,
Thank you so much for Highlighting this point
Actually what happened to me is that I lent some money to some friends, and unfortunately, they can not pay me back right now, and since I was planning to travel within the next 3 months I was having that concern.
But you are right, even though it is not an issue to land only with the minimum, I need to secure the first 3 to 6 months of my life in Canada as a new immigrant and that's what I will do.
It is a good point you raised Dear YVR123, and thank you so much for that.

I am a little confused. When my PR is approved is this something I have to do. I am a US Citizen applying for my PR with my Canadian husband sponsoring me.
Did you ever find out? We're approved and will be moving back to Canada in September.

I'm also a Canadian sponsoring a US citizens, outland (we both live in the US presenlty) and there is no way in hell we have that kinda money to bring with us :S I was told that Family Class, Spousal does not require any amount of money to sponsor. We will be lucky if we end up bringing maybe 5k Canadian to start while we wait for my spouses payout from their 401k....:/

I think this is maybe for the Family Class with children/parents?
